I first met Team Coach Irving Falk when we first reopened JHS 218 back in 1991 as were looking for amateur teams interested in competitive games to complement our current after school program from throughout NYC. Many 5 borough basketball teams responded but Team Coach Irving Falk went one step further to provide our JHS 218 up and coming program with an extra hand and provided direction on what we did not know about. Irv affectionately as he is called by everyone has been providing ENY Youth Basketball training since the early 1980's. Ask any of the youth and adults that were and are now heavily into playing basketball through out NYC if they ever heard of " The Living Legend Team Coach Irving Falk ", and most likely they will tell you " YES " ! Through the year's we have built a special friendship that continued through our SHOWSTOPPER Basketball Tournaments. Irv's basketball team even won the first place trophy in our 2002 SHOWSTOPPER Basketball Tournament Games and next year we expect his team to be part of our SHOWSTOPPER Basketball Tournaments once again, " WITH OUT IRVING FALK ", our events just would not be the same. There are many good hearted Brothers and Sisters that I have personally met throughout the year's who have volunteered their time and services without a second thought. They have networked with local politicians, and business leaders just to make a kids day become a " GREAT ROCKING CHAIR MEMORY " ! ENY Front Line Trench Fighter Sam Washington of - THE BROOKLYN PANTHERS FOOTBALL TEAM reopened P.S 13 After School Center WITH MONEY STRAIGHT OUT of HIS OWN POCKET JUST TO GIVE THE YOUTH IN THE HOOD, A CHANCE AT LIVING A BETTER DAY ! The Brothers below are East New York Brooklyn Hero's = Coach Irving Falk, Third Grade Classmate Of The Webmaster Randy Hudson In P.S 202 Mr. Willie Battle CEO of Imani Altisimo - Now Deceased, Coach Mike Anton, Coach Germaine, Virginia State University College Professor /Coach Perry McNeil, Kenny Watt - Ghetto Basketball Games Sponsor and many others, to many to name are just some of my modern day hero's still fighting on the front lines as soldiers in the war against Poverty, Despair, Idleness, HIV/AIDS, Gangs, Drugs, and Mentoring for the youth of tomorrow, Remember nothing is impossible most of these same brothers just " GOT TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED " and decided to change the world, by talking to one kid at a time, these are men after my own heart, hard to find, and cannot be duplicated. I'am proud to say that I have personally met each of these men on the road of life and I'am proud under the sun and moon lit sky to have fought side by side together winning small decisive battles in the slippery and cold muddy East New York and Brownsville trenches in the war against poverty, crime and despair. Each of us without fear for our own lives have volunteered and have fought on the front lines in the war people say could not be won against poverty fighting a battle without getting paid, and without carrying guns, hard as a rock, able to street box but now without putting up our hands, able to " KNOCKOUT ", the toughest young men by melting their hearts without saying a word, and still win in the ring of " HOPE " by the deeds we do and leading by example. We are winning this battle by providing LOVE, HUGS, Guidance, Jokes, Smiles, and Lending an Ear, just to make a difference in the youth of tomorrow, " Starting Today " ! These Men Encompass Martin Luther Kings Dream of Equality and Without Fear For Our Own Lives Have Made a Major Difference Within Their Communities And Are America's True Inner City Hero's Of The New Millennium !
